MLB Baseball
Since we are a week away from Opening Day, who's your team and what do you think their chances are this year?

Mine is the St. Louis Cardinals. I've been a fan since I was a kid listening to Jack Buck and Mike Shannon on KMOX.

I think my Redbirds will make the playoffs, but not go far. Losing LaRussa as manager, Dave Duncan as pitching coach, some infielder named Pujols and a rookie manager in Mike Matheny will make it tough to repeat. The fact that Chris Carpenter is out with something hinky and not easily defined or rehabbed doesn't give me much hope.

RE: MLB Baseball
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Cubs! Have acquired a great fondness for the Pirates as well, and like to root for all of the following: Red Sox, Rays, Nats, Giants, Dbacks, Indians, Mariners, and some others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Have been to about 10 stadiums and intend to see them on my bucket list.

PS, I've eaten steaks at Mike Shannon's wearing a Cubs jersey, and probably will do it again some day. It was the off season though (was there to see the Illini/Mizzou Braggin' Rights game.

Still a Red Sox fan. Yeah, even after the debacle last year. Very curious to see how they do this time around. Honestly, I don't know what to expect.

Technically Opening Day was yesterday with the game played in Japan. But yes, "real" Opening Day is next week.

I'm a Mets fan. It will be a looooong year.

Braves fan. I really have no idea what to expect this year. Could go either way.

I have been and will always be a Detroit Tigers fan. This year could be great for us, with a good rotation, potentially murderous lineup and a decent bullpen.

RE: MLB Baseball
Born and raised a Cardinal fan. I can remember being 8 years old, sitting in my parents' house listening to the radio (my folks were too fundy at the time for a TV) and hearing Jack Buck call Ozzie's home run in the NLCS.
