As far as I know (of course, depending on the purpose), part of FAM is using condoms (nitrile if necessary) or some barrier during the fertile period. In fact, we should definitely include having other kinds of sex besides PIV (penis in vagina) for birth control, too. There are some ways to have sex that have zero risk of pregnancy, and if STIs are not a concern for particular people, can be done without barriers as well (though I've never heard of someone allergic to every possible material condoms are made from...or plastic wrap). I'm guessing that probably wasn't addressed in the original talk, though. It would be awesome if it were!
