Got my netflix running on the wii....woo hoo!
Watching ken burns national parks....John Muir was right...the works of man should not be elevated above the works of God...and if we want to experience that we should get into the wild.....so true...these treasures are truly a temple where God is present! RE: ken burns..netflix
My husband LOVES watching documentaries on Netflix. And my son loves Mythbusters and World's Deadliest Catch and shows like that.
I was just watching Grizzly Man. I'll have to check out the national park ones. I've always wanted to see a redwood in real life. "Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

Great series. Ken Burns is awesome! Netflix became a lot cooler when I no longer have to watch it on the computer... Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.--Howard Zinn |

Lol your finally coming around to the joys of technology eh?
You should also try an HDMI cable to your tv, you'll notice a HUGE difference and enjoy your Netflix and Wii even more.

RE: ken burns..netflix
I have an extra. Just didn't know the wii had an HDMI hookup.
I use a LOT of technology at school. I just haven't fully jumped on board at home yet. This winter I signed up for the free trial and just kept it. I've watched a few movies on the computer but it has been a nuisance. my boy has run it through his xbox and i tried that but apparently when he is at his buddies house on their xbox signed in i can't get it to half the cool stuff it should... I've considered a Roku box too. If I could get the following "live" tv I would be fine with streaming every other program: MSNBC, CNN, ESPN, ESPN 2, and all of the channels that run college hockey, and oh yeah, the CBC. I would shut my cable off in a heartbeat. More research is needed. I'd pay a few bucks a month to stream each of those channels..put a really tall over the air antenna to get my free locals and the CBC, and go from there. Cable bill from 80 down to 15 a month. Our only trouble is that we are limited by a 5 mb high speed DSL. It's the swellest package you can buy up here... Bean Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.--Howard Zinn |

We totally dropped our cable bill and only use streaming internet now. Saved about $100 a month so it's already paid for itself.

RE: ken burns..netflix
We run it through our wii also but Barnes and Noble updated my Nookcolor (update was free) and I can now get it on my Nook. So when hubby is watching something on the TV I can put in my ear phones and watch whatever I want....and I can watch wherever I want as long as there is wifi available.
Right now I'm working my way through the British Crime series Midsomer Murders. Midsomer is almost like Cabot Cove Maine from Murder She Wrote. Murder ever week! I also love the documentaries. I'm thinking of giving up the cable....and just having internet. O Beauty ever ancient, O Beauty ever new; you, the mirror of my life renewed, let me find my life in you.~St. Augustine |

Totally with you on that, Bean. And love you for saying it. I would replace hockey with baseball and college football and also need BTN. A lot of people have been preaching "ditch your cable for online viewing" at us. They all have one thing in common: they don't watch sports. But they are also hipster wannabes who respond that I am shallow because I do and need to give it up to prove my intelligence. |

I just noted the setup that we use due to the pricey tv options out there. I don't care what other folks use.
