We have been truly blessed, so cannot complain. And for all of our sanity, the twins came first not last. We have been having staycations though, which are fun.

My friend had four in 22 months. Two sets of twins. When number five came along, she kept telling us what a quiet easy baby he was with a voice in complete awe. I said to her, "because there is only one of him" and she said, "oh, yeah, I didn't think of that!" Given that she had five children under four, I was not surprised that she didn't. I'm not sure she had time for thinking, then.

We thought two in 20 months was challenging. http://bluecollarjesus.net "You are now DR.redbeardiam." - Presbygirl Proud recipient of "the blessedhopebaptist badge of bitterness" |

What was frustrating was all the people who thought it "funny" to suggest a 2nd one hiding in there. |

RE: Vacation - What do you guys do?
We go to Holden Beach, N.C. It is a private beach 30 miles N. of Myrtle beach. My wife's sisters and all our kids come, so its like 18 of us in a 6 bedroom, 5 bath house for a week. We also usually swing through PA and VA to visit the Missus' Mom and Dad and my 7 siblings. We enjoy books on tape as we drive, and stopping to eat at interesting places. We save all year for these trips. At the beach, we relax. I read, sit in the sun, swim, fish, walk the beach. Two nights at the beach, we all go out to a nice restaurant. I love it. This year, we will miss it because my oldest is getting married the week we usually go.

We usually go to the Ozarks with my in-laws, which is really fun. We all rent a big cabin in the mountains and just spend time together doing whatever strikes our fancy. Our family alone tries to go camping (camper or cabin -- none of that tent stuff for me, lol) a few times in the spring and the fall, too, when the weather is nice.

RE: Vacation - What do you guys do?
We're not doing anything big this summer, since the cost of our honeymoon in January is going to be almost obscene. My fiance's friends have a place in the Hamptons, and they've offered it to us for the week of my birthday next month. The Hamptons are pretty boring...not much to do except sit around pretending to be the Gatsbys, lol. But we thought it would be rude to decline, so I guess it's better than nothing.
Blanche: Is that all you Italians know how to do, scream and hit? Sophia: No, we also know how to make love and sing opera! |
