Duggar girls wore PANTS!
Last night on 19 kids and counting two of the Duggar girls who have joined the volunteer fire department wore full fire-fighting gear which includes pants. I was in shock. I figured their parents would say they couldn't join because of the pants issue, but they sure were wearing pants when they walked into the burning building . . .

I remember hearing the Duggar parents say in a previous episode that it the girls had a personal choice about whether or not they would wear pants. RE: Duggar girls wore PANTS!
It always interests me to see how far people can take the idea of "freedom to exercise their religion." Ever since an Islamic woman in FL refused to unveil her face for her driver's license, I wondered how far it would go. If your religion says women must be in skirts, can women fight fires wearing skirts? (Hopefully, no!)
"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

I'd think it would be difficult to be an effective soldier wearing an ankle length robe and a head covering, but that's apparantly the dress code for these women. For their sake, hope they are never in real combat dressed like that. http://www.iranian.com/PhotoDay/1999/Sep...arade.html

Oh man, it's the slippery slope. First fire fighting pants. Then real pants. Then eventually nothing but mini skirts and tube tops. Commando.

RE: Duggar girls wore PANTS!
They did actually make skirts to go with their firefighters "dress uniform" or whatever it is, but somehow I don't think that would work so well with the actual firefighting gear. Yikes.
Supernova8610, the parents really said the girls could choose? Really? Dude. That family's getting all worldly now . . . "The phoenix hope, can wing her way through desert skies, and still defying fortune's spite; revive from ashes and rise." Cervantes |

Yikes. That's what I remember them saying once. Although it makes me wonder how easy the parents make it for the kids to choose..
