How does one go about merging fundamentalism with MMA?

Funny thing about MMA, it involves a lot of things you would THINK Kidd would be against.

I would guess that he would like to actually do bodily harm to anyone who called him out in public. He is the very type that I have constantly warned against in the IFB movement. He gets off on the power of the pulpit and his stature as the M-O-g. He loves the control he has over his audience and the altar call is his orgasmic delight.

If you study with my 8 week program you will learn a system of self defense that I developed over 2 years of fighting in the octagon.

Take a look at what I'm wearing, you think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face when I'm wearing these bad boys? fugghetaboutit!

At this venue where he is going to be performing I am known and they already know I am anti-fundie. Not sure they would welcome me in there to start with.

He actually likes to brag about that every now and then. I saw him look a woman with short hair right in the eyes and even point at her while he was saying something about a "short haired, lizard tongued, jezebel".

If my wife had short hair and I saw him do that I'd get up there and smack him with my folding chair. Then you guys could buy tickets and watch it all go down from there! Big Grin

This false teacher is one of the few that I really get worked up over. I pray that someone would show up at one of these meetings and with righteous indignation and Power supplied by the Holy Spirit say "Enough is enough! Be Silent Satan! The Lord Rebuke you!"
But the groups that worship him have heaped to themselves this teacher who tickles their ears with his legalism, and hard, toe-stomping preaching. They get their emotional fix from his false teaching, lies, manipulations and guilt trip altar calls. Just like a hardcore junkie needing a fix they need to experience something that they can call god.

*steps of off soap box, shaking head in dispair.*

And here I always thought martial arts were of the devil and no good fundy would be involved in them. Shows what i know. {shrug}

Is martial arts bad?

I don't know, or care really, since I don't do it. I know Chuck Norris spoke out against a lot of stuff that he used to be involved in as a martial artist, but he is still a martial artist, but doesn't practice the spiritual side of it.

Anyway, I think that UFC did a movie recently called "Warrior" and it's pretty good. It's not as good as "The Fighter" which had Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg in it, but it's still a good film. Kinda like Rocky meets The Fighter. And it's all about forgiveness too Smile

The ending is great. You really want both guys to win.

Grace means that God does something for me; law means that I do something for God. God has certain holy demands which he places upon me: that is law. Now if law means that God requires something of me for their fulfillment, then deliverance means he no longer requires that from me, but himself provides it.

Different schools have different philosophies. Some emphasise the religious side of things. I did karate as a kid and it was just the movements taught with good character (work hard, respect others, use karate for self defence only, etc).
