I know a little bit about Jessie Ruhl. He attended Golden State Baptist College for a semester or so, then transferred to West Coast Baptist College and graduated there. He played on their basketball team also. His father, Tim Ruhl, is the senior pastor of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Chico, CA. His church has run a youth camp for over 20 years called Mount Zion Baptist Camp. I personally attended that camp during my stay in Northern California at a Fundy church.

Tim Ruhl is a well known pastor among the West Coast IFB camp. He taught classes at Golden State Baptist College for over 10 years, and may even still be teaching there, but I don't know. Additionally, he has a great relationship with West Coast Baptist College as well, considering his four children graduated from WCBC.

Quite frankly, I am surprised that Jessie Ruhl has been charged with molestation, mainly because his wife (as far as I remember) was actually pretty attractive. Why would you cheat on a woman who's beautiful? Right, Tony Parker & Jude Law? Oh well, I hope that Jesse receives justice for his heinous actions.

It's not like dudes are thinking, "My wife just isn't as hot as she used to be now that she's had a couple kids. I think I'll go bone a 14 year old instead."

For starters there was the general IFB assumption that a man's wife is at fault. If he's gone looking elsewhere, then she's obviously not satisfying him. That is disgusting and offensive on so many levels.

Secondly, sexual assault has nothing to do with attraction and sex really, it's about exercising power over somebody who is weaker than you.

And thirdly, if the man is attracted to the underdeveloped body, then there's nothing the wife could have done to keep his interest.

And, there's probably a lot more that I'm missing. Those were my first thoughts.

Wow...I really couldn't imagine. I've only been married for just over two years and I'd prob want my wife to shoot me if I did something like that.

There are always these stories coming out about high school teachers having affairs with teenage boys. Sometimes the teachers are very good looking (where were they when I was in high school)? Does a smokin' hot 24 year old female school teacher sleep with a 14 year old boy because nobody else will have her?

Often churches will have a single young man as their youth pastor, which can be pretty stupid. A single 22 year old guy straight out of Bible college is vulnerable to aggressive 16-17 year old girls. And that may be the only case where it's explainable by simple sexual attraction.
