Worldview Academy?
Is anyone familiar with this group? I forget where I got the brochure, but I was curious, so I looked at their web site: http://www.worldview.org/index.php If they're teaching youth a worldview, I'd like to know what that worldview is. Their leadership camps appear to be mainly held on evangelical campuses, though some are held on state university campuses. Their statement of faith is generic evangelical, their "philosophy" page is about platitudes and hard work, I don't recognize any names on their faculty, and, while I don't recognize any particular titles on their book list, they appear to be typical "leadership for conservative evangelicals" material. Under "Alumni" there is an incongruous link to "News from World Magazine" which I am familiar with, but the connection is unclear. Do they sponsor these events? Or did someone from Worldview just like the magazine and decide to toss in an irrelavant link?

Just wondering if anyone can connect this organization with any group, institution, church, or person I may have heard of.

RE: Worldview Academy?
They are big on apologetics, trying to convince skeptics with rational arguments. I'm not sure how well those arguments work with postmoderns however. It also seems as if their "Biblical worldview" falls in lockstep with a conservative Christian Americanism. Much of their output is political.

RE: Worldview Academy?
I heard of Worldview Academy through World Magazine somehow. My impression is that it's related, perhaps tangentally vie The King's College or something? I have no link to send you to to show that, I'm just pretty sure that it is in some way an offshoot of World Magazine and possibly The King's College.

Forget the fear/it's just a crutch/that tries to hold you back/and turn your dreams to dust.

RE: Worldview Academy?
Worldview Academy has produced a video series for teens called Demolishing Strongholds. Among the speakers are Ken Ham and Carl Kerby of Answers in Genesis. So there is a strong relationship to AiG. Teens at our church back home enjoyed the series and asked to go hear Bill Jack speak when he was at another church. The goal is to help young people develop a biblical worldview and know how to defend and give answers for what they believe.

So it's basically fundy propaganda. Sorry to be blunt, but that's what AiG produces.

The answers these young people are given aren't gonna hold up in the real world.
