Is it my breath?

Is it my breath?
Looking over some recent threads, I was surprised to see in how many I had the last word. Am I joining (or continuing) the conversation after everyone else has lost interest? Does this forum just move a lot faster than others I've been on? Am I so overbearing no one wants to talk with me? Is my scintillating wit simply unanswerable? (Not likely.)

If the conversation has just moved on, and nobody cares if I throw my two cents in, fine, but if I'm inadvertently committing a forum faux pas, I'd like to know.

ETA: I meant to post this in a different SFL forum (topic?). I tried to move it, but couldn't figure out how. Darrell?

RE: Is it my breath?
I'd say it's that things move pretty quickly around here, but I've no other forums with which to compare.

However, there are some perpetual "go to" threads like:

Word Association
Dear So and So
FundyBook

But, here's a WinterGreen Altoid, just in case! Smile

I've not noticed what you are talking about to be honest.

It's not that people don't like you...

What you write is so profound that no one can hardly add to it, or else they risk diminishing the greatness of your words. Wink

But seriously, don't worry about it. Someone has to be the last poster in a thread; why not you! Big Grin

Wait, I thought I held the dubious last poster award Tongue. Its not you, its the nature of the internet. The forum threads move and evolve far faster than my thought processes. By the time I've worked out what I think and what I want to say the party has moved on. Or conversely thread drift has occurred and my response to the OP sits there looking completely out of place.

when I kill a thread, I like to think of it as me winning by having the last word

RE: Is it my breath?
Yeah, Papa Bear, it happens to me too. I just accept it because I am a nobody and I know it. The world inside of me is large and complex, the world outside of me is Times Square full of passers-by. I am an introvert and this is my curse.

If a man-o-god delivers a toe-stomping sermon and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

I feel that way, too. Sometimes I feel very invisible. Undecided
