Challenge - Your 1st SFL post
This is a spin-off of the "How did you find SFL" thread. Some of you already did this in that thread, but here is your challenge:

What was the 1st blog post (or forum thread) that you stumbled on at SFL? Bonus points if you can link to the blog post or thread.

Now I am off to find my first.......

That didn't take long. Here is the first post I ever saw. Is it a wonder I stuck around?

I have no idea when or what my first post was. You made me curious.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

RE: Challenge - Your 1st SFL post
Mine was this one that someone linked on Facebook:
http://www.stufffundieslike.com/2011/04/christ/
After reading this post, I realized why I never really got anything out of the sermons I was hearing. I started reading the blog and comments, and for a while I was a little horrified; no one likes to see their religion and way of life vilified. However, Darrell and many posters on the blog addressed questions and problems that had been in the back of my mind but that I'd pushed away because my church and pastor must be right, amen? I started looking at things in a whole different light and reading the Bible without my fundy filter (which is hard!). And to anyone on here who has made a point and backed it up with a Bible verse, you can be sure I've looked it up (in my KJV -- I'm not out yet, folks!).* Anyway, I'm grateful. And some of my favorite posts are the very first ones -- there are fundy-isms that only people who grew up in the IFB churches would understand, and some of them had me rolling with laughter!

*I said that for the amusement factor. I recently acquired a copy of an NASV, but I do read the KJV mostly. It's familiar. Smile

It was the blog post about baptism. Here's the link:

And may I saw, that mustache is quite something.

We all have our own inner angry natives and our minds invent a million ways to avoid confronting them directly. But if you just look them in the eye and ask them why they're chasing you with spears you just might learn something about yourself.

Saw away dear, saw away. Tongue

And don't go back and edit "saw" to "say" (thanks Shoes)

Darn you, Scorpio, do you have any idea how much time you made me waste today tracking down an answer I thought would be easy to find? And I still haven't found it, but I somehow just can't let it go...

The first one I found (or that someone on Facebook found and I clicked on) was about the weaker brother, but I the image of the t-shirt isn't the one that I remember. I could swear that instead of "Weaker Brother (watch your step)" it said "I am the weaker brother."

I've been hooked ever since.

RE: Challenge - Your 1st SFL post
After looking through the archives, I am 99.44% sure the first post I read was Misery posted Jan 24, 2011. The reason for the 0.56% uncertainty is that I stayed up all night the night I discovered it, reading the archives. I don't remember how many nights it took, but I read the entire archives up to that point, leaving comments in long-dead discussions along the way. I subscribed to the blog, and have been reading it ever since.

The first post I commented on was Illustration: The Big Tragedy, posted Jan 26, 2011. I commented Jan 27, 2011 at 2:23 p.m.

I didn't join the forum until Oct 12, 2011, but when I did, I quickly found that all the nicest commenters hung out here, and fewer trolls.
