I never thought much about how THEY must've felt during that time. I guess I could always pull out the MRE's for a week just to get them thankful for real food no matter what my wife wants to cook.

I promise I don't cook weird stuff and if it's something I know they won't like, I make sure to have an alternative, but they pick weird stuff to complain about. The 8 year old has decided she doesn't like spagetti and the 10 year old has decided he doesn't like mac and cheese. The 4 year old...he just doesn't eat anything.

RE: Things that HACK ME OFF!
I hate when I can't remember the name of a song or any of it's content, but I can remember the music video. I'm trying to find the song and it's driving me insane! And Google isn't helping.

RE: Things that HACK ME OFF!
It's a weird video... it has some woman walking down the street with a really long weird neck that moves drastically to the music, and a guy with a TV for a head following her. When he gets close, she turns around and pushes him and he goes flying through the air with great force, and almost breaks his TV screen head. I saw it months ago on YouTube and can't remember any information that would help me find it.

Here is a tactic I've learned in my many years of childcare. Don't like what's being served? You can make yourself a PBJ sandwich or some other equivalent fixing. I cooked dinner and if you don't like it you can make your sandwich yourself. Lots of kids suddenly decide they want to eat what is being served. Younger kids get the 2 bites rule and then they can have a PBJ sandwich if they want. Picky eaters can be a pain. Just keep offering and they eventually try new stuff. My favorite food at the age of 4 was escargot. "ABRAHAM DIED FOR YOUR LOX AND MATZO BALLS!" |
