What do you do on your weekend off?

Question What do you do on your weekend off?
I just LIVE for the weekends most weeks. Sometimes I get lucky and get some extra days off making it even longer to enjoy. It seems I enjoy being off work so much that I measure time until the next one comes around.

So what do you guys enjoy doing on your weekends off?

I'm usually working on one of my motorcycles to keep it in top shape for the next commute week or dirt ride I dream of doing. I actually enjoy cleaning my rarely used car as well. I sometimes get bit by the cleaning frenzy for a few hours, then I like to take my wife out and watch her enjoy shopping, eating out, and such.

I guess my dream weekend would be taking a nice bike ride along the coast in 70 Degree clear skies, going for a nice hike in the woods, or even eating with my wife at our favorite up-scale restaurant for a evening date.

I could think of lots of things. What do you guys normally like to do?

RE: What do you do on your weekend off?
I usually stay up somewhat late on Friday night and then sleep until around noon on Saturday. The problem is that it leaves me with not much of a weekend since I do a lot of church stuff on Sundays. I think this weekend I'm going to finish up the drywall work in my bathroom and maybe start painting. I've only been in my condo for three and a half years and haven't finished the work I started before I moved in.

Watch my kids.
Do housework.
Write a little.
When the weather is nice I grill.

That's about it. For the most part weekends just really depress me.

We do what all good teachers do.

CLEAN THE HOUSE

At Friday at 3 the clock starts ticking on my weekend. Usually friday night is something fun--a meal out, ordering take out, etc. Sat. AM--run. Sat pm..rest and clean house. Sun--church along with marathon laundry sessions.

I usually work each of these things into my weekend as well. I don't count it a real weekend unless I sleep in. Angel

Do you get into Xbox or PC games? I find that if I get out of my normal weekend routine and try something new just for the hell of it, I'm amazed sometimes at all that I've been missing out on.

Something like just going for a walk at our local State Park can actually turn out to be really enjoyable. Although I don't know what it would be like with really young kids.

Oh, yeah, I forgot I'm going down to my parents this Sat for my Dad's birthday.

RE: What do you do on your weekend off?
I think it's quite common to live for time off. During the week, my husband and I work different shifts and rarely see each other. Sometimes I work during the weekends or am on call, but generally not. During the weekend, we'll go to the range, be lazy, do the cleaning that built up during the week, work on training our 10-week old german shepherd/malinois mix, run, sit around watching Family Guy or American Dad. This weekend we might be taking a ham radio class Saturday and Sunday if we can find someone to take care of the dogs. When it's warm, add camping to the list. Once a month, we meet for training with a search and rescue team we volunteer with. Our puppy is going to be trained in cadaver detection when she grows a bit. Neither of us are partiers.

I just remembered that tomorrow is Friday and got happy.
