Poll: How often do you attend church?

RE: Poll: How often do you attend church?
I go on Sunday morning and night. I stopped going on Wednesday nights so I can have more hours at work and so I can have more free time to work on school assignments when I don't have to go to work, and I love it. I'm hoping to move to another city soon, and when I do I will probably only visit churches on Sunday morning. The only reason I go to church on Sunday nights now is because it's one of the only times I get to socialize with people.

It seems like mainly the IFB type churches are the only ones having a formal Sunday night service in our area. All of the large non-denom churches (that we've visited) don't seem to have them.

Makes me wonder if it's a Fundy thing.

RE: Poll: How often do you attend church?
My wife and I have been looking for a church for a while now. We have been going somewhere/anywhere on Sunday mornings more regularly in the last couple months. There was about a year or more where we rarely went at all.

When I was in college, I tried some kool-aid, but I didn't like it, and I didn't swallow.

I voted once a week before I saw the OP. Oops! Right now this is true, but we don't have a small group at the moment. When we do (which should be soon), we will be attending the Sunday morning service and a small group meeting whatever day/time of the week that is.

Frankly, God and I are having a tumultuous time of it, currently, so church isn't something I'm particularly enjoying; but I'm on the worship team, and I don't like to let the worship leader down by missing. I end up missing about once a month anyway due to late, late Saturday nerd/gaming/D&D sessions with friends/family.

Tumultuous time? You bet! Much of the past 40 years I have felt like Jacob. I will not end the wrestling match until He blesses me.

Church is NOT about talking to God. There's too many people there doing stuff that has nothing to do with God.

Pretend for a moment you are the God of this Universe, and possibly many more. In this corner of the Universe, in this nondescript galaxy, this mediocre solar system, in this miniscule planet, Does God really going to care if these insignificant beings go to church every seven (Earth) days?

If you are not plugged in to The Source already, going to church is not going to make any difference. (It is not the Church that saves.)

Meanwhile, for those of us who atttend here at SFL, we need the option to say: We attend church several times per day!

RE: Poll: How often do you attend church?
I got really triggered a while back at my church and I've only been once since. But I LOVE all of the people in my small group. I feel like they're my church and I alternate with my husband and attend our small group every other week. I'm quite happy with that situation but my husband's needs are different than mine as far as what he feels is "church" to him so it's a bit of a sticky situation.

RE: Poll: How often do you attend church?
Once a week. We are still (STILL) looking for a new church. If we find one, I'm sure we will be more involved. Unfortunately, the guilt sets in a bit if we don't at least try to go on Sunday morning. I know I shouldn't feel guilty, and that there is no benefit in going because I'm 'sposed to, but still.

RE: Poll: How often do you attend church?
My husband stopped going last Easter. He tried out a couple others. I stopped going New Year's. Since then only one person has asked where I was (FB message). Of course my parents and in-laws still attend 'our' church, so who knows what is being told. (Not that I think my parents are saying anything, its the in-laws I have doubts about).
