I hope the next generation of Christians is known for stuff like this, rather than for opposing gay marriage, immigration etc. . .

I hope they are known for this AND opposing gay marriage, etc. We are called to be salt AND light.

I think the current generation of followers of Christ is known for this. A huge number of them see themselves as agents for the Kingdom rather than just folks who are trying to get as many people as they can to go to heaven.
