good message today

Today in church the sermon was about people bringing those who were sick and in need of help to Jesus.

A couple things I got from it:

1. The verse said "and Jesus healed many." Not necessarily all. Our praying harder won't do it. We can when we pray turn it over to God and let Him deal with it in His way and in His time...What we do get is not always healing but a feeling that God's in charge and it's gonna be ok..

2.Jesus restores us not to sit back and enjoy life on our own, but to go out into the rest of His people and do something to make their lives better!

3.If we need help, we need to ask! It doesn't need to be a public spectacle. We can ask others to pray, and there is HUGE power in that. But there is also huge power in our silent prayers asking God to help us with whatever we face.

There was no admonishing people to examine their prayer life, to see if the one hour devotions were done, if the Bible reading was up to date, if they were praying out loud, on their knees, etc. Refreshing.

We had communion..I went home feeling lifted up and ready for the week. This is the way it should be. I used to hear stuff in church that would make me feel bad, and by noon i'd be ready to get out of there!

Sounds like a great service.

We are a needy people and need God desperately, we don't know exactly how God's works and meets those needs, but we know when we join our hearts and prayers/hopes with others of like faith we are comforted and we know and can feel the power there.
