RE: IFB Leaders On Expository Preaching
Stuff Fundies Like: Defending the AV 1611 Bible, but failing to preach it word for word.
For our wisdom ought to be nothing else than to embrace with humble teachableness, and at least without finding fault, whatever is taught in Sacred Scripture. John Calvin |

My choice is probably Calvary Chapel or Bible churches who may lean to Calvinism. Anyone knows of other churches that are committed to expository preaching? TruthSeeker, my church back in WA and my new church here in TX both have pastors who practice expository preaching, and both churches are nondenom. Nondenominational churches are all different and it usually takes visiting them or asking questions to find everything you need to know, but I think you might be more lucky in that direction. Also, my pastor back in WA leaned "Calvinist," but a lot of people in the church didn't and it was definitely not something you would find out by visiting the website. He didn't talk about it until he was preaching from passages where it would be appropriate--I was there for over 2 years before I realized what he believed on that topic. Even if I wasn't "Calvinist" myself, I would've been comfortable there because it wasn't presented as a huge deal that needed to be preached about every other Sunday. |
