RE: Awesome birthday presents
My birthday is right before Christmas so I've never really had a big birthday. I remember one year when I was probably 6 or 7 I got this awesome Hotwheels car tower thing that I thought was awesome. I haven't really got any gifts in recent years.

RE: Awesome birthday presents
For my 6th birthday, my parents bought me a 1907 Steinway grand piano, mahogany with painted garland decorations. This was actually my "starter" instrument (obviously, they really believed in my talent)! My fellow pianists probably realize how awesome that is, but for those of you who don't play, this is rather like a kid getting an Escalade for his 16th birthday. I love my piano so much, I even made my dad have it delivered to L.A. so I could play it in my senior recital.
Blanche: Is that all you Italians know how to do, scream and hit? Sophia: No, we also know how to make love and sing opera! |

RE: Awesome birthday presents
Miranda...your piano sounds like a beautiful instrument. I play the piano also, but not because I had much talent.
![]() One of my best gifts ever was a ruby birthstone ring Mr. NDTK gave me for Christmas one year. I love my birthstone and had picked out a ring I liked before my birthday--in July. He saved the inventory code from the jeweler until Christmas came around when he finally purchased it. Five months is a long time for him to hang on to a business card. He's not usually a planner, so it was double special that he actually remembered the ring and it's still one of my favorite pieces of jewelry (and I don't wear a lot of it!) The way it always was, is no longer good enough. You make me want to be brave. - Nichole Nordeman |

We didn't have to fight over a piano...just who was playing what. ![]() My best birthday gift would have to have been my Daisy BB gun when I was 10. I got so accurate with that thing I could shoot a dragonfly in half from about 25 yards or so as it was perched on our dog cable. That thing has since been painted in tactical camo colors and even had a sling installed! My youngest bro now enjoys it's greatness.

RE: Awesome birthday presents
A custom-made Skynet Development Team t-shirt with a program code to send a Cyberdyne Terminator to 1984.
It was probably the sweetest, most thoughtful, and coolest present I've ever received. (Yeah, that's geek love for you.) |

RE: Awesome birthday presents
I wanted a surprise party for my 40th birthday. I was surprised; no party. Anyway, I can't really remember the best gift I've ever gotten. One of the most interesting was a copy of Johny the Homicidal Maniac.

RE: Awesome birthday presents
My kids and wife gave me money for a tattoo on my last birthday. I thought that was pretty cool.
