Happy by-products of fundyland?

RE: Happy by-products of fundyland?
I agree with Tiarali: the best thing I got out of fundydom was my daughter. Never would've met and married her dad if I hadn't gone to HAC. Never would've left fundydom if he hadn't divorced me.

Lol! We posted simultaneously and our posts "read" each other. That's too funny. Smile

Critical thinking skills (frequently verging on just plan criticism). Bob Jones was just so STUPID that I couldn't help but sit there in chapel and pick apart the awful sermons.

No, Dr. Wood, the giants that David fought in the Old Testament do NOT symbolize challenges that Christians face. And the fact that Elisha gathered all the prophets together is NOT an Old Testament support for Christian education.

All shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Recovering, have you read the Fundy Love Day series that Darrell did? He had a week of things that he felt he'd benefitted from that came from his fundy upbringing.

He wrote them around May 10, 2010. If you type in "Fundy Love" and go back until May 2010, you'll find six posts.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

I have not, but I will enjoy reading them - thanks!

When rendering John 1:1 in Greek, and the JW at my door looks like a deer caught in headlights, and his or her patter just thrown way the heck off.....Ya just can't put a price tag on that moment.

The Ark was built by a lone amateur, and the Titanic was built by an impressive group of professionals.
