The fact that RP thinks it is completely fine that Iran has a nuclear weapon completely eliminates him from consideration as a presidential contender. Donb123 has exhibited some acumen regarding national and international terrorism problems (Don sorry to be talking like you aren't in the room, but I know you'll get around to straightening us all out) so I simply can't understand how "anything" else he says can be taken seriously. We've all heard the "anyone with brains can see it's so" argument way too many times to fall for that. :-) (Though it occurs to me that you might just be teasing, and if so, my apologies). North Korea has nuclear weaons. North Korea is more f'ed up that Iran. Saudi Arabia and Iran have similar make-ups and Saudi Arabia isn't our enemy. Why? Oil. RP has often said that when people have mutual economic interests they tend to tolerate one another. Iran would love for us to buy up all their oil. If they had to play nice to sell to us and we'd make them rich by buying from them then we'd have a sort of detente. All the force in the world that we've tried has bought us no new friends and we jump from war to war and we have countless military bases, but I'm sure if we bomb just a few more times we'll get better results next time right? |

RE: Ron Paul
And then of course is the Christian angle, for those of us that are anyway- we think nothing of thinking God is on our side and we'll bomb so-and-so back to the Dark Ages. We did this in Iraq and the Christian population there has been decimated. They've been persecuted and had to flee for their lives. I wonder how many Christians kill other Christians in war all the while thinking they're doing the right thing by "defending their country"?
If Iran is not a direct threat to our peace and safety and we attack them and kill people then we are not following the notion of just war and are not following the Prince of Peace. War should always been an extreme last resort. We know nothing of that in our country. |

RP tied with Obama in latest CNN poll. RP grabs biggest endorsement in SC. In other news RP sucking in FL. Old people still watch MSM and MSM hates RP. Yes I know Rob, you believe he'll never make it ... Of course I hope he does but at a minimum I'm enjoying watching him piss off Republicans.

RE: Ron Paul
His last best hope was winning Iowa by running a enormous ad campaign on how pro life he'd be. He still lost (in a close one), but he's just toast.

RE: Ron Paul
Dude, your being afraid of Ron Paul as President is the most irrational thing I've ever heard. His philosophy is the best message being spread across this country in a loooooong time. If he doesn't win, there will be his son, there will be some random no-name, there will be others who will pick up the mantle that Dr Paul has started. The message of liberty and freedom is here to stay.

His base covers a swath from OWS to Tea Party. What you say may well be true. This seems more and more like a movement. I'd bet some of the neocon warmongers who booed the Golden Rule are the same ones who voted for Rand cause he was Tea Party. |

RE: Ron Paul
Did any of you watch the debate last night? Were you taking your medication properly.
RP can't put two coherent sentences together, he was "owned," it was as though the other candidates were "ashamed/embarrassed" for him. OMGoodness, are ya'll serious? He's so lost, he had to have someone help him out of the building after the debate. Darrell that video you put up is dead-on, I'm sorry good folks, but I can't believe you support this guy, I don't think he could pass an exam to get his driver's license. The good news is that Christ died for all of you........not just some of you! |

Because we all know eloquent speech is THE determining factor for a president and damn the content right? I mean that's why Obama is so kick ass cause of his awesome speeches about "hope" and "change" and puppies and unicorns and rainbows. |

RE: Ron Paul
Certainly "purdy" speeches aren't the determining factor for a president, with that said, I think it is very important to "communicate" your message, and with RP his message seems non-existent, that is, as long as I can bear him bumbling around.
RP is a scary candidate, I'm sorry but Lyndon LaRouche is the only one that comes to mind that was as scary. I would absolutely rather have 4 more years of Obama's socialism, than have this wacky guy occupy the White House. The good news is that Christ died for all of you........not just some of you! |
