RE: Smartphones?!?!?
Thinking of rooting my Evo Shift. Anyone in SFL-land using a rooted android? Anyone using, specifically, cyanogenmod?

Get an iPhone, you'll be happy. Seriously, I've met Android users who converted to iPhone and never looked back, but I've never heard it going the other way around. The iOS experience is fantastic. User friendly, yet very powerful.

I'm sure I would enjoy an iphone. However, getting one is not in my plans for the near future. Plus, I have a phone that I like. I am, however, about ready to kick sprint's hobbling to the curb.

From what I'm reading, it's still entirely doable... Just a little bit more work. Like, not something I wwould ever recommend a casual smartphone user trying.

Well now you have. I converted from an iPhone to a Droid. They are really very similar. If you ask me, the main points are that the iPhone does music better while the Androids have a much better GPS. Most everything else is too similar to really go one way or the other. Although if you live in a city with 4G service you can't get that with an iPhone yet. I just got my Droid Razr Maxx about 2 weeks ago and it is blazing fast on 4G. Well really, it is just blazing fast period.
