Pedophilia a Disability?
Yep, good ol' Greece has done it again!

Yesterday Greece's Govt announced that they will expand the list of disabilities that they cover to include, Pedophilia, Exhibitionism, Kleptomania, Fetishism, Pyromania, and sadomasochism.

It would seem that Greece has returned to the immoral roots of the ancient Greek Empire where corruption ruled the day.

The good news is that Christ died for all of you........not just some of you!

Interesting. According to that I guess that means if I like to get spanked I have a disability.

Flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

I'm guessing they are classifying them under mental disorders, therefore they are disabilities. I see this backfiring cause a lot of people will say there is nothing wrong with them, especially the fetish, exhibition, and S&M people.

You say that like it's a bad thing?

RE: Pedophilia a Disability?
My guess is that this gives people with these disorders protection under the law for employment.

These things were specifically excluded from our own employment laws. That way employers can fire someone for exposing themselves at work and not have to deal with a disability lawsuit. Whenever a person with a "disability" is fired, there is a huge potential for big legal headaches. For instance, if you fall asleep at your job, it's usually a fire-able offense. If that person has a medical issue that caused them to fall asleep, well then you potentially have to fight off a lawsuit. People sue for these kinds of things A LOT. It's usually settled out of court because it's cheaper than fighting it.

When has corruption not been an issue in Greece?

I can't believe that they are passing this just to pass it. I'm wondering if one part of the ruling coalition is trying to get leverage from another in return for removing these groups. I can't see how these so-called disabilities keep people from working.

Oh look a correction: http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/euro...story.html

"In a story Jan. 9 about definitions of disability in Greece, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the addition of groups such as pedophiles and kleptomaniacs to a list of the disabled could be used to grant them disability benefits. Their inclusion on the list will not be used to provide benefits."

Still not sure how any of these conditions are disabilities...

RE: Pedophilia a Disability?
I have personally heard the argument, "He's not bad, he's just sick." and that argument is enough to make me want to vomit. I think there is something mentally wrong with such people. It's certainly not normal to be attracted to an undeveloped child's body. However, I think that psychologists' attempts to "cure" such people, while well-meaning, are futile. Just lock them up. I don't care if it's a prison or a mental facility. Just lock them up.

RE: Pedophilia a Disability?
I have no problem with pedophiles being called disabled as long as they are also labeled permanently disabled, a hazard to themselves and society, and locked up somewhere for good.
