RE: Real Marriage: Mark Driscoll
I have to agree with Amy...I wouldn't take anything seriously from someone in a Micky shirt, regardless of what the talk was about. Everything I read that he has written or heard him say screams "look at meeeeee!" The hipster clothing just magnifies that effect.

I get jeans and a tee shirt. A Mickey Mouse shirt just seems really, really wierd on a man.

I have a "Grumpy" shirt that I wore to casual events when it was new, and I still wear it on yard-work days.

He was part of the emerging church movement. He now readily criticizes what he considers "emergent Christianity."

Regarding the dress issue, I really couldn't care less what fashion choices my religious leader makes. Intellectual depth, character, theology, et al are much more important, IMO.

He's post-modern emergent. He gets to criticize himself in third person.

Are you serious? Cuz he's pretty much the opposite of that. He may dress hip, but his theology is not post-modern or emergent...

This is what he looks like in a suit (courtesy JesusNeedsNewPR).

Why does he sometimes wear suits when he preaches and sometimes wear Mickey Mouse shirts? I totally don't understand. I mean I get it if he were visiting somewhere formal (Joshua Harris wore a suit & tie when he preached at SBTS chapel) but to be on his own platform one week wearing ill-fitted Disney shirts and the next in a suit and tie? Wha?

Guessing that's Easter. One of two times a year when unchurched people are actually looking for something that feels traditional.
