"Four things both atheists and believer need to stop saying"

RE: "Four things both atheists and believer need to stop saying"
Not all atheists are as extremely anti-religion or as arrogant as parodied here. I think this is often a reaction to the extreme in-your-face religiosity that seems so prevalent in the States. I wouldn't have a clue what most people I know think regarding the existence of God. Occasionally it comes out that one is atheist or the other agnostic, or the other holds to some sort of generic religiosity, but it is rarely an issue. It is the strident believers who cause problems, whether the belief is in God, Nogod, Socialism, Capitalism, Libertarianism, Guns, The Koran, The Bible, Amway, My Country, etc. etc.

I believe what I believe. I actually do think that my beliefs are more rational and evidence-based than religious beliefs, but I know that the road that I took to get to that position was not a pure rational exercise and I try to temper my unbelief with bit of doubt from time-to-time and to remember that I was once absolutely sure of beliefs that are the opposite of what I hold now. I usually come out of this excercise even more convinced that I am right, but at least I try. Smile

I have today off. I clicked the link last night. And was there until about 1 hour ago. I enjoyed that site.

This site is friggin' hilarious, as it is insightful. I waste A LOT of time there.

We all have our own inner angry natives and our minds invent a million ways to avoid confronting them directly. But if you just look them in the eye and ask them why they're chasing you with spears you just might learn something about yourself.

Me too. Way. Too. Much.

But it's usually funny, and often insightful.

Just realized I have learned more about art history from Cracked than I did in my university-level European History course in high school. Y'know, I always thought that my education system was pretty good in comparison to other places, but when you learn more from a humour site whose articles were written mostly by burns-outs and nerds with a laptop and Internet access, well...
