"It's crazy how even if you don't believe those things in your heart, the teaching can still be planted in your head."

When I read that in the original post I was like YES!!! A MILLION TIMES YES!!!!!! and then my mind wandered back to all the times when I was a teen and just getting away from the kool-aid when I would see women in church in pants and it wasn't just that I didn't like it, but that it immediately induced fear in me because if she was wearing pants she was going to hell and it was MY JOB to make sure that didn't happen. My fundy indoctrination was heavy on the idea that if we witnessed 'sin' (pants on women, long hair or facial hair on men, any bible other than the kjv) and didn't get that 'sinner' to change their ways then we were not right with god and were in danger of going to hell ourselves. If I were to remove every person, place or thing that offended me I would live in an empty and barren place and that would offend me. |

Welcome!!
