RE: How was 2011 for you?
I don't even know how to answer the poll.
I'm learning who God is. That in itself is ground breaking for me. I'm learning to trust, both Him and other people. I'm finally healing after decades of physical and emotional abuse, and I'm following my dreams. So 2011 brought change -- much of it frightening because change, even good change, is scary to me. I was disowned by my father, really through no fault of my own, and that brought a strange sort of purifying healing as well. Freedom, if you will. An opportunity to start over. I have hope for 2012. I hope that my life won't have been for nothing. I have hope that I will learn to put the pieces together, and I have hope that I can build upon the foundation I've begun this year. I have hope that I can change, even after years of being this scared, fragile person. I don't do NY resolutions, and I'm not starting now. But change is in the air, as is personal growth, and I'm excited to see what tomorrow will bring. |

Blessings, Persnickety Polecat!! He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it!

RE: How was 2011 for you?
Well, I started off 2011 by getting a partial gastrectomy in February, and ended up with hospital acquired pneumonia. I figured the year could only get better from there, and for the most part, I was right. My health was (is) still pretty miserable, but it has shown me how much I'm loved by my family and friends. My boyfriend has been especially wonderful. I haven't been able to work very much, but he's been very generous and hasn't made me feel like a burden at all. So I feel lucky. Hopefully in 2012, I'll finally find out what's going on with my health and start dealing with it more effectively.

RE: How was 2011 for you?
2011 has been a good year starting with the wedding of my youngest daughter and the delivery of our 3rd grandchild and being there to witness it was awesome. Throughout the early part of the year being able to grasp a better understanding of my fundy upbringing and putting it all into proper perspective freeing my mind so much so that it feels exhilerating to believe and think for myself for once. Happily married going on 24 years, good health all around for us, our children and grandchildren. Business going relatively smooth with no financial issues. The only set back that interfered with having a good year was dealing with my dad involved with crack and his attempted suicide.

RE: How was 2011 for you?
The first half of the year, when I was living with my crazy stepmother who got up in the middle of the night to cuss out the imaginary people in the living room, stole the sheets off my bed, and forbade me from using the kitchen at all or using the bathroom before 7 AM, all the while I was working two jobs (70 or so hours per week) and counting down the days to leave their house - that part was wretched. I hated it. Really did.
Now, though - I'm in grad school, in a great grad program, I'm working a job that helps me pay the bills - and it's a job I enjoy, I'm dating, I have a great nonFundy church to attend ... life is good. Very good. "The phoenix hope, can wing her way through desert skies, and still defying fortune's spite; revive from ashes and rise." Cervantes |

Well, apparently the world can't end in 2012, because Marty McFly traveled to 2015.
Darn. Wait - where's my flying car? :/ Our love is the digital transfer of information ![]()
