BJU to review sexual abuse policy
BJU have announced a committee to review their sexual abuse policy. It will even include outsiders!!!!
It's just too bad that the actual statement contains lies: Quote:“When I—or any member of the BJU family—hears of sexual abuse, we grieve for the victim,” says Dr. Jones. That's certainly not true of how BJ III has treated Tina. So, apparently there will be no apology or acknowledgement of past wrongdoing. Just a media spin. Maybe some change in the future - we'll see who's included in the committee. Our love is the digital transfer of information ![]()

RE: BJU to review sexual abuse policy
The cover up of rape and molestations at Phelp's church in NH is appalling. Yet BJU wanted Phelps on its board. Now BJU will review its sexual abuse policy. I hope this isn't mere window dressing for the "show window." Let's hope and pray that BJU will really change. BJU, III can start by denouncing Caleb Thompson and Chuck Phelps.

RE: BJU to review sexual abuse policy
I'm unfamiliar with Caleb Thompson. Could someone fill me in?
Edit: Don't worry, I found it. It's no wonder the IFB hate the internet ![]() 2nd Edit: They have a website. And books. Which might be ok if they were repentant. BUT: "Five years into a fourteen year sentence in the Texas State Penitentiary for consenting to the discipline of a child, Caleb opens the dark shades of trial and sheds fresh light on the Grace of God that sustains the soul in its most difficult hour." I'm going to puke. Our love is the digital transfer of information ![]()

RE: BJU to review sexual abuse policy
The review will only be as honest and effective as those on its committee. If the committee is BJU faculty, "counselors" (and I use that term loosely) and pastors from their camp, and David Gibbs as legal counsel, the review will only be a sham, only for image and lip-service. Hopefully they'll get someone from SC's state licensing body, and an attorney not affiliated with BJU in any way.

RE: BJU to review sexual abuse policy
Do Right BJU are pushing to have representatives from the Julie Valentine Center. They are completely outside of the IFB and they are experts at dealing with sexual abuse.
