Fireproof Redux
So, we finally sat down and watched it since it's on CMT. I was surprised it was on CMT and not INSP or something like that.

Anyway, we caught it about 20 minutes in and it was during a fire scene. We immediately started laughing. HF has been a volunteer fireman for almost 15 years, and if you're in the department for even a half a day, your equipment isn't going to look like that. It was brand friggin new. I mean, come on, the helmets were shiny. You should see HF's helmet. You can barely make out the color. And, Kirk Cameron was supposed to be a Captain in his department.

The acting was horrible. Kirk was good, and I was impressed that he did this movie for free in lieu of a donation to his favorite charity. But, the acting of everyone else was like a church play.

And, what was the deal with the sacrificial circle in the middle of the woods?

Okay, with ALL that said. The premise of the movie was good. But, if it didn't end the way it did, I was going to be SEVERELY critical of the fact that it seemed like the guy had to do all the work while the wife could be a bitch and shake her tail at a coworker, all in the name of being the "weaker vessel". But, the end saved it.

The idea of love dares is good, as long as its genuine. It all boils down to demonstrating kindness every single day. HF does this every day, and has since the beginning. It confused me at first, because I had never been cared for like that so unconditionally. Its the little things he does, like doing the dishes and laundry, which I HATE. Taking the dogs out first thing in the morning, which I hate to do. And, coming in from his shift, slipping into bed and putting his hand on my leg. When I have a hard day, he pulls my feet up on his lap and rubs them. He texts or calls me as soon as I get off work and on break to ask me how my day's been and has always done that. It's just the little acts of kindness that mean the world.

We talked about the movie before we fell asleep last night. I told him that he's always done all those things and done so much for me, and I don't feel that I don't give him half of what he gives me.

He said, "Pphhhhhhht!!!" and started laughing. After he said that I was full of it (in a loving way Tongue), he said he felt the exact same way about me.

I feel the same way about the Bear. Face it, honey, we both came up winners in the husband department.

Some people get cool hallucinations that tell them to kill people. Mine just try to get me into trouble.

Is "the Bear" your husband? Because that's the nickname that my mother gave my father.

MOMMY?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! Tongue

We all have our own inner angry natives and our minds invent a million ways to avoid confronting them directly. But if you just look them in the eye and ask them why they're chasing you with spears you just might learn something about yourself.

The movie drips with cheese. At first I hated the guy, then I hated the girl, and by the end I hated both of them.

My husband and I couldn't make it all the way through the movie. Way to cheesy. Husband has now been asked to teach the Courageous study at church. We haven't seen that one. Any one have comments on it?
