The food you hate but everyone else loves...
And so with the holiday season, my thoughts turn to food...
What's a food or drink you dislike that everyone else seems to absolutely love? For me, Dr. Pepper. Ewww. I've tried it several times over the years to see if I would "like" it, but can't stand it. Also, sushi. I was raised in the midwest, where raw fish is another way of saying bait. Maybe it's my age, but the thought of trying raw fish isn't appealling. Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes. Oscar Wilde |

I don't really like watermelon. I don't despise it, but I rather NOT eat it than eat it.
"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

I don't like Dr. Pepper either. Tastes like cough medicine to me. bleh!
I also don't like most seafood. Crab, lobster and fried catfish are about the extent of my foray into sea creatures. Sushi I can do, but only the ones that have cooked meats in them--smoked salmon or crab. The way it always was, is no longer good enough. You make me want to be brave. - Nichole Nordeman |

I do not like peanuts in any type of cookie or dessert. What's odd is that I love peanuts by themselves. But if I bite into a cookie and it has nuts, I am ready to puke.
Flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes. |

Those Swedish mini-meatballs that appear at almost every Christmas party. You can try to dress them up in different sauces, but then end result is usually the same, heartburn.

Plus, seedless or not, I feel like I have to work really hard eating around the seeds for not much enjoyment. Everyone I know gets so excited and I'm thinking "what's the big deal." |

Indian food. For a while, it was the stylish lunch for professionals. (I like curry, too, which made me think I would love Indian food).
I'm a human billy goat - I can eat anything, but I won't eat that. Although I'll eat it, lamb tastes a little gamey to me. Fried chicken that's been left in the fridge for 8 hours tastes nasty to me, but doesn't seem to bother anyone else. The Ark was built by a lone amateur, and the Titanic was built by an impressive group of professionals. |

Boiled peanuts, on the other had, are one of my favorites. |
