Everybody is cool with hot lesbians. What they have a problem with is the man-on-man action. Newsflash: Gay dudes don't want to have sex with heteros. They want to have sex with other gay dudes. In fact, the odds of your having gay sex against your will are incredibly small. Unless, of course, you are in jail. Sure, two hot lesbians making out stirs my heterosexual lusts to the max, but I'm not fine with it. According to my interpretation of Scripture, I do not believe that either the lesbian activity or my heterosexual lusts are acceptable to God or His law. "Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does." |

I don't find lesbians all that appealing. Maybe it's just me but I think lesbian sex acts are a waste of two perfectly good women.
I'm not the least bit afraid of being hit on by a gay man. It's happened to me a couple times and I deal with it politely and move on. I'm still waiting to see an intellectually serious and honest case that demonstrates the Bible views homosexuality as acceptable. |

I'm still waiting for someone to make a serious and honest case that the Bible views anything other than missionary position-only heterosexual intercourse for the purpose of procreation as acceptable. Gay or straight, getting your sexual mores from the Bible can only lead to a very dull sex life. Blanche: Is that all you Italians know how to do, scream and hit? Sophia: No, we also know how to make love and sing opera! |

That was lame. Seriously. I don't know anyone who says the missionary position is the only acceptable position. To bring that into a discussion about traditional morals regarding homosexuality is a really cheap rhetorical trick. Personally, I don't care about anyone's sexual habits. However, I can't honestly say that I've ever seen any evidence that suggests the Bible approves of it. |

This. If that argument were even relevant in the first place, where in the New Covenant has God commanded that the missionary position is the only acceptable one? "Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does." |

Canyon Walker Connections. That's all I'm gonna say.
We all have our own inner angry natives and our minds invent a million ways to avoid confronting them directly. But if you just look them in the eye and ask them why they're chasing you with spears you just might learn something about yourself. |

Sorry if I was misunderstood, I thought that was pretty obvious hyperbole (though it's not far from what many older Catholics were taught). But I don't think it's a rhetorical trick to point out that Christianity has traditionally promoted an unhealthy view of all sexuality, not just homosexuality. "Sodomy" is not, and never has been, a synonym for "homosexual acts."

The bible views slavery as acceptable yet we don't practice slavery. There are other things in the bible that we know to be false due to science and whatnot too. Just because the bible says so...do we practice it or do we view the bible as a document that, while possibly being inspired, was still written by men? Besides...did Jesus ever say anything about homosexuality? Why should we take the words of the early church over him? |

"Sodomy" is not, and never has been, a synonym for "homosexual acts." I never used the word "sodomy" nor did I reference traditional Christianity. So it's introducing confusion into the argument in order to distract from the reality that the Bible gives no quarter to homosexuality. |
