An IFB friend of mine who was a sudden mid-life widow invested her life insurance money with him at the advice of her pastor (the pastor of Gospel Light in Hot Springs, AR).

I also remember him coming to our IFB church there and teaching Sunday School and being lifted up as a financial guru. What a fraud! Makes my blood boil. Taking ill gotten funds and sponsoring kids to IFB school for the accolades of man. Grrr.

When he left Fairhaven it was a HUGE scandal, something he probably could have gone to jail for but was just sent away from the college instead. I was just a kid, but I remember all the members called in for a big closed-door meeting about it.
