RE: Monday is December 12
Eternal Father, Grant courage to those in the student body to stand for truth and justice in an environment that seeks to suppress it.

RE: Monday is December 12
I'm in the same area as BJU. I graduated from there. I support Tina Anderson and all sexually abused victims in the IFB world, and I am scandalized at how my alma mater is behaving. I will be wearing red that day, but I don't have the courage to actually attend chapel. I still know lots of faculty and staff, and I am pretty sure I cannot face them wearing red. Cowardly, yes. I'm embarrassed at myself, but the thought of walking up the steps in the balcony to sit in the middle while I am wearing red terrifies me. It probably terrifies me no matter what color I were wearing actually. I'm sorry. I just can't do it. :*(

We're all at different places in our journeys and maybe this isn't right for you right now. I'm sure the consequences will be huge for those that do wear red. Thank you, MKxcomm. My thoughts and prayers will be with all those who will be participating and who have also been hurt by BJU and IFB teachings.

If you got comfortable then you could remove your jacket. You could be our spy in how BJU is handling students who are brave enough to wear red. Pay attention people! RE: Monday is December 12
I won't be there, but I do have a friend from up here in Detroit who's driving down expressly for the protest. I have family down there and I fear that they are just as afraid as I would have been. But I wore red today to church and will wear red tomorrow.
Many people are changing their profile pics on FB to be red in honor of tomorrow and show support for the kids who are trying to stand up for justice. I admire their courage. Ignorance is not the issue. Willful ignorance is the issue. |

RE: Monday is December 12
AmazedbyGrace--I understand your sentiments. I'm 99% sure that I wouldn't have been able to go thru with it myself if this had happened when I was a student. Could you wear red in a more subtle way? A tie or earrings (not sure if you are a man or woman.) Either way...I understand and as others have said, I'm SURE there will be fallout for those who wear red.

RE: Monday is December 12
This has turned out to be a nightmare for the BJU administration mainly because their old fear and intimidation tactics aren't working any more. The media has permission to be there. There are a lot of alumni going and wearing red today. I have friends who will be tweeting. I'm excited and scared at the same time.
