RE: BJU Pursuing Regional Accrediation
(12-06-2011 04:53 PM)Tony Mel Wrote: If they get regionally accredited, Berg has to stop teaching counseling courses. He doesn't have a doctorate, even though he calls himself Dr. He'll have to get a PhD in pyschology or they'll have to hire enough psych PhDs to get a high enough ratio to satisfy the accreditor. SBTS has found themselves in a similar situation. They had Stuart Scott teaching Nukethetic counseling but SACS wasn't having it b/c he had a DMin but no PhD in a relevant field. They ended up giving the counseling named chair to their legit psych professor and hiring on another PhD in psych. And they can't offer PhDs in counseling any more, but they still do DMins. |
