RE: BJU Pursuing Regional Accrediation
In other news, BJU will also apply to join the NCAA by next school year.
But this absolute reversal shocked me. And the intercollegiate sports thing was what floored me. I had no idea BJU would ever even think about thar level of sports. I didn't think they were good enough.

I can promise you, they are not good enough. There will be years of blowouts before they get the right ath... I mean, good Christian people there to compete for titles (whatever they are).

I don't think it's the NCAA, but the NCCAA. This makes more sense.

What I don't get is why they would do this after going through the process of "national accreditation"?
It doesn't make any sense (but what does at that place)?

RE: BJU Pursuing Regional Accrediation
Good call on the sports thing. Unfortunately I only heard the one C in association's initials he listed, but then I could have mis-heard. He did sound like he stuttered, so maybe it was 2 Cs in there.

EDIT: Found it. http://taylors.patch.com/articles/bob-jo...ic-program . When on earth was Stephen well enough for an interview?! And I wonder why they need now more school spirit? Wouldn't a true Fundy say the Holy Spirit is enough? Is the Spirit of God not enough for these collegiate administrative types that they need to induce sport spirit? The answer to all these questions can be found in... dum dum deee dummmmm... The TWILIGHT ZONE!

National accreditation isn't the same as regional. Some schools will not accept transfer credits from national so if you want to finish your education outside of BJU you will be required to spend a boatload of money to catch up on credits you already took. Some large corporations also do not accept national accreditation.

I got that. What I'm wondering is why they would do this so soon after going to all the trouble to trumpet how great national accreditation is, as well as how eeeeevvvvviiiilll regional accreditation is?

Maybe this student protest thing has them way more rattled than anyone could ever imagine would happen? This is one of the big complaints from the students and would probably appease some of them.

I suppose, but do they think people are so easily bought?
It will be interesting to see how this plays out with some people, especially their older constituency.
