Live Nativity....really

RE: Live Nativity....really
I posted a funny live nativity story on the IFB Christmas thread.

Our live nativity was very inexpensive, as the animals were owned by people in the congregation, but after having to deal with them the one year, the pastor decided the only live participants in the nativity from then on were the people. Since we're in the Arizona desert, it never got below about 40 degrees in the early evening when we were putting the Christmas on.

My church participates in something called Christmas for the City, which is a completely free event at a big venue downtown where they have music and performing arts, crafting areas so kids can make gifts for people, they give away food, clothing, and diapers to the needy, they have bread from bakeries and coffee so you can sit and fellowship with others of different faiths and backgrounds...it's the most amazing 3 nights and I cannot wait for it to get here.

Sounds awesome... I'd much rather participate in something like than a living nativity.

RE: Live Nativity....really
There's a church by me that always puts up an outdoor live nativity every year. It goes up a couple weeks before Christmas and is taken down about a week or so after new years.

They use manniquins for the people and real animals. I love it!
