RE: Bob Jones III Is an @SS
Another interesting quote:
BJIII: The Cleary Report, The Cleary Act whatever it is requires us to report everything. Before the Cleary report there was no requirement that something that happened internally had to be reported publicly. Once the Cleary Act came , we started reporting everything. As the law requires us to do... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Following the letter of the law...Only reporting sex crimes when the law forces them to. [sarcasm]What a loving Christian environment where women are valued! [/sarcasm] So are we to believe there were zero assaults during the years 2008, 2009, and 2010? All it will take is one victim coming forward to say an on-site assault was reported to a member of the administration during those years and BJIII's world will be rocked. |

I know her family background was less than ideal, but this is the first time I'm hearing of abuse. Does anybody know what he's talking about? And let me clarify--I have no desire to intrude into somebody else's private business. But III just threw it out there, making it public, and he references a book his wife wrote, presumably on the same subject. So I'm curious--what exactly is he talking about? Wow. First I heard of this as well. I have heard her talk of her childhood. It was rough because her family was apparently poor but if I remember correctly she always spoke of it with fondness. ![]()

RE: Bob Jones III Is an @SS
Another post from DoRightBJU's facebook that needs to be read and preserved.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My Thoughts on the resignation of Chuck Phelps by "Anonymous" "From my perspective, this is too little, too late. If Chuck Phelps had resigned months ago, perhaps many would have kept quiet and BJU would have continued as usual, however, too much has been said and now attention is being brought to their views. Too much has been remembered. Stories of what people experienced at BJU are now being shared. I don’t think there is a way to go back. I know that for me, I cannot go back to my little corner where I pretty much forgot about BJU and didn’t really care what they did. The things I tried to forget cannot be pushed away any longer. A ray of light was brought to BJU’s position in a public way when they defended Chuck Phelps, but their views have been consistent through time. They have consistently viewed certain people as “flawed” or perhaps “less than” the more worthier people. The worthless and flawed include those who have been sexually assaulted or raped. I remember in my Child Psychology class hearing the teacher state that no one should ever marry someone who is the child of divorced parents. It would “taint” the marriage and God would never bless it. That same teacher stated the same regarding marriage to those who have been abused physically or sexually in any form. So if we have been sinned against, we no longer have worth? We are suddenly vile and rejected, no longer “pure”? Who are the pure anyway? Another BJU faculty member, also a pastor, told me that anyone who is sexually assaulted is morally impure as “a morally pure person does not attract sexual abuse or rape.” He elaborated to explain that this even included young children. Another BJU teacher, also a local pastor, recently made public posts about Tina Anderson’s situation condemning her. He made statements in reference to her being fortunate that the incident didn’t occur in Bible times and then proceeded to state what the consequences to her would have been. I can’t imagine the pain that she must have experienced if she read or heard about his comments. I can’t get them out of my head as they would apply to me to. I should be stoned for being raped?? Is this BJU’s view? Can this possibly be God’s view? Is this REALLY who BJU says God is? There are numerous accounts where students were told that they cannot wear “white” on their weddings due to having been sexually abused or raped. In other words, they must be forever shamed and humiliated for someone ELSE’S sin, though of course, the abuser can hide and never bear a moment of shame. There are numerous stories where people were told to go apologize to their abuse for the hurt and fear and anger that was felt as the recipient of these crimes. Really? BJU continues to heap the shame on. Why is it that BJU so very quickly condemns those who have been the victims of suffering and abuse? Why are we seen as so worthless? And WHERE is the condemnation for those who commit these crimes? I have NEVER heard them condemned. Actually, I have heard the opposite. THEY are quickly offered forgiveness. THEY get the privilege of having their sin be hidden, covered, forgiven for the sake of God’s reputation. They are not seen as worthless. They are not told to wear the scarlet letter assigned to those they have wounded. They can continue in their areas of ministry with no public shame. They can even continue to assault others. They learn through example that the “victims” have no worth so why restrain themselves. They know that if they are caught, they just need to appear repentant and they can continue to be exalted. The “Christian” thing to do is forgive and restore! The “Christian” thing to do is to never ever tell. It is not considered a “Christian” thing to involve the police or report a crime. I am really confused about this. How can the injured person who did no wrong be under such a level of condemnation? How can so much additional shame and disgrace be heaped on them, yet the perpetrator is quickly given a place of honor? In the world of Bob Jones, I am among the worthless. I was sexually assaulted by one of those who continues to be seen with honor. He was quickly “forgiven” and restored. He bears no shame for the crime he committed. He is free to continue to assault others. If he does, I’m sure he will be quickly forgiven. I am the one who is to carry the shame, carry the condemnation. I am the one who is told to not wear white because of HIS evil. I can’t help but contrast this to the Jesus of the Bible. The God I learned about at BJU heaped shame on me. I was under a crushing weight of hopelessness and was somehow supposed to clean the stench of the sin of others off of myself before I could be worth anything to God. This drove me to despair until by God’s grace and mercy, after leaving BJU, I learned that this is NOT the God of the Bible. It is a false god, a man-made god. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. He did NOT come for the righteous – those Pharisees who proudly exalt themselves. He came to the weak, the poor, the broken. He came to give hope, freedom, healing. He came for me. He came for the very one that BJU condemns, not for those who proudly hide their sin, exalting themselves in lordship over others. Those are the ones I see Jesus condemning in the Bible. BJU, may God have mercy on you! I pity you. You see, while you condemn me and others like me, Jesus reaches out his hands in mercy, healing and comfort. God says he turns away from the proud. He states clearly his perspective on those shepherds who abuse the sheep in his name." - Anonymous |
I knew about this when it occurred. I can't say a whole lot. However I can say this was NOT a phone conversation. Other witnesses were present. Dr. Bob III would have a hard time with the "expectation of privacy" issue when HE wanted witnesses. The lady who made this recording and transcript doesn't want to be harassed, like someone recently was who sent something to be posted on my blog by "Mr. Humble" Chuck! ::dripping sarcasm:: If the person who released this is reading, please know ALL calls stopped once the person who released the Phelps transcript went online and exposed him for trying to bully her. The same has been the case with many others who come forward. Going public will shut them up. Let them threaten to sue you. That's an paper dragon. Opens HIM up to legal discovery and he really doesn't want that. Too many skeletons rambling around in that old closet of triple sticks and his school. These men are all huff and puff. (((u))) |
RE: Bob Jones III Is an @SS
Bob Jones, III is a liar who never had BJU report sex crimes to the police.
Chuck Phelps is also a liar. On the Do Right Northland page an eye witness reports that Phelps continued to cover up child molestations at his church in NH. Kids are expendable. Only the leaders are to be show Christian forbearance and love. Bob Jones, III is a disgrace to the "cause of Christ." |
