I'm sure they had some "reason" for it. Maybe senior citizens on the administration board insisted that that's how EVERYONE behaved in 1920 or something.

But, yeah, the walkways were fully lighted. It made no sense, unless it was just another way of controlling us and breaking our will.

It's my understanding that after 7, teachers had gone home and things were quieting down, so after that you could only be where there were "chaperones" to keep an eye on you. It seems really pointless to me, though. And why 2 adults couldn't walk along a well-lit walkway just blew my mind. We were treated like a bunch of children living in a neighborhood full of pedophiles.
