Kegerators
I'm considering getting a kegerator.

Anyone else have one? I'd prefer to use my existing fridge if possible. It came with the house and is from the 1980's but still running strong. I'm single and I don't keep much beyond a gallon of milk in the fridge. It doesn't have any dispensors, but I don't think that matters as long as I get an adequate drip pan.

Drink of choice is Guinness. I understand you need a CO2/Nitrogren mix for the lines. How much does such a mix cost? I'm wondering if it's worth it. Some coworkers say that while you pay less per volume on the beer, the overhead makes it about even, with the only benefit being the quality of the beer and the convenience of being able to pour exactly as much as you want.

Asked HF. He's a beer connoisseur, sort of. He says if you're a Guinness man then you're more concerned with quality of the beer than cost. And, he says that it would just have a cool factor. He says go for it.

No info on the details but thought I'd share what he said.

RE: Kegerators
Who wouldn't want their own tap in the kitchen or bar at home? I think it's a cool idea.

When I was in college, I tried some kool-aid, but I didn't like it, and I didn't swallow.

I wouldn't mind having one of those.

RE: Kegerators
Our friends keep juice boxes in the bottom of their kegerator. I'm not a beer drinker, but it was nice to try a little without getting a full glass/bottle.

I would have a Leinie's tap on my counter.
