Showed this to my daughter, and she says that if you're talking about Sailor Uranus/Sailor Neptune, both of the characters are girls, but one of them (Sailor Uranus) considers herself as male. She's of the opinion that instead of making the homosexual relationship less obvious, the changes make it more obvious. (Mind you, this is going on her impressions from when she watched the show, not from any research on her part.)

I'm a former fundy turned anime/cosplay fan Something about being forbidden to celebrate Halloween has pushed me toward excessive costume wear. But that's neither here nor there.
I remember going on a "winter wonderland" outing once where they showed us Blackbeard's Ghost, that old Disney movie, then after it was over our principal got up and went through the movie scene by scene telling us how wrong it was...witchcraft or some such nonsense. I haven't seen it in so long I can't even remember what it's about. I just remember, as much as I thought everything they did was perfect, rolling my eyes at that one.
