RE: What can Northland and BJU learn from Penn State?
On the Do Right Northland facebook page, a certain Greek is explaining the mind of Matt Olson. Apparently Matt Olson wasn't required to report the sex crime of rape because he wasn't acting as a "pastor" when he picked up Tina Anderson at the airport and drove her to the Landry's house.

The credibility of that page is NOT helped by Jocelyn Zichterman's constant postings. |

What did you think of the Greek defending Matt Olson by claiming that he wasn't acting as a pastor when he picked up Tina at the airport? |

I think that guy is cowardly for not using his own name and pompous for using a fake name of some Greek orator. Was he (Olson) acting as the pastor every Sunday when Tina attended his church? Pretty sure Pastors are mandatory reporters. |

Also, Jocelyn was hurt badly by people at Northland. She has a right to tell her story, and doing so may help prevent others from being hurt. “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. Jocelyn has every right to share her story. I'm pretty sure she has several pages/blogs/sites where she does that already. And if I really wanted to hear it I'd go to her pages. |

RE: What can Northland and BJU learn from Penn State?
Well, Jocelyn can certainly share her perspective of how she was treated by Matt Olson. I have no doubt that what she says about Ollila and Olson screaming a her and her husband is true. Leaders like Ollila and Olson are all about the truth and transparency when it is someone else being skewered. But when the tables are turned and Ollila and Olson have to face the music, then they go all silent and pretend that they have done nothing wrong.
Tina Anderson was abused by Matt Olson's directions to write the rapist's wife and apologize! Tina Anderson was further abused by Olson not protecting her in Colorado by reporting the rape to authorities. His friendship and loyalty to Phelps was more important than the lamb that was in his care. Olson should be ashamed of himself and should resign. |

Well, I'm all for all survivors being able to tell their story, and that is certainly an appropriate place to talk about how the leadership at Northland has acted wrongly. I'm guessing there's some history behind your statement. “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. I graduated from Northland in '90 - I have many good memories and some bad. I have mixed feelings about Northland, but I don't have the time or energy to spend figuring out how, when or why. I literally spent 100s of hours in the Ollila home - as a friend of the two daughters and as a babysitter. I don't know what Dr. O did or did not do in JZs story. I do know my personal experience. That said, I don't know Matt Olson, but I think he should resign. My best friend of 30+ years (we met in grade school) lives an hour from NIU. She knew JZ. My friend had some run-ins with her that were completely unrelated to any of JZs rants about Northland - nothing to do with her medical stuff or her husband's firing or her childhood abuses. Just personal interaction stuff. Who do you think I would believe? Honestly, through therapy and experience, I choose to avoid people & their drama.
