A Young Fundamentalist, on Fundamentalism
The sentiment of this parallels my experience and my feeling about fundamentalism - I think you would find this very common among northern IFB's who grew up in many of the churches that came out of the Northern Baptists - independent state fellowships mostly instead of a solid group like the SBC - there was crazy there, but it was not across the board and it was repudiated at times by the leaders, but now the inmates have started to take over the asylum. KJVO and extreme anti-calvinism, plus a radical focus on rules and authority have destroyed several of these state fellowships when the reasonable people were forced out "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side" |
