Dress Code
I've worn a tie to work the last few days even though I'm not required to just to make them wonder what I'm up to.
It's always good to keep the management a little bit nervous. Next up: learning to tie a bow tie. "It doesn't help to wear a hat on your head if your posterior is exposed." ~ PW "Don't make crazy your normal and then wonder why nobody agrees with you." ~ EC |

RE: Dress Code
It's often good to keep people wondering!
My next big change would be to wear pants to Sunday morning church. We have musicians on stage who dress quite casually, and one guy who serves as an assistant (we're small; he's unpaid!) has preached in jeans (and offended some old folks, even though they were very expensive jeans! lol) But I have yet to wear pants there myself. Not sure if I can! God won't love me anymore if I don't wear a dress on Sunday! jk "Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

RE: Dress Code
My most recent dress code change was that I cut 18 inches of my hair off and got layers. It still reaches bra-strap level.
And it went to a good cause. |

RE: Dress Code
I've always enjoyed dressing up--I own gobs of ties and love a good suit. But I do have to admit I got tired of having to do it in college. Now the occasions on which I dress up are so rare I spend a long time trying to decide what to wear, especially since I don't know when my next chance to put on the dog will come up.
Unfortunately, Darrell, I'm not one of those guys who can pull off a bow-tie. Wish I could help.

RE: Dress Code
I am basic... always wear jeans... keep the nicer ones for Sundays... and I wear a Polo or Button Down shirt for sundays... I hate ties
Only wear them when absolutely required...

Now I only own a handful of ties and a couple of sport coats that I mix and match on the rare occasions that I need one. RE: Dress Code
Casual dresser all the way. I'm almost afraid to dress up for work now. Most of my co-workers are around retirement age and I don't want to be the cause of a heart attack!

RE: Dress Code
This was the hardest change I made. Although I may seem like I have put everything behind me, wearing pants to church was a HUGE issue for me. I remember vividly the church I was attending, and where we sat the first time I wore pants. I was literally sweating and was a nervous wreck the whole time. I had just had a baby and nothing fit, so I was stuck lol. Anyway- I wear pants regularly now- but never jeans. I just can't do it. The most casual I get is Khakis. I DO wear jeans when going to the church for ladies Bible study or something, but not for church.

When I started there it was required to wear a suit & tie every day including Fridays. Then the firm went "business casual" and I hated it. It was much easier to have 4 white shirts and 1 light blue shirt and match them with ties, than to have all these casual shirts and slacks in every freaking color of the rainbow...especially for someone like me who is partially color blind. Now every night I have to get my combinations "checked" by the wife to make sure stuff matches....
