RE: Adjustment Bureau
I wanted to see it. It looked like, coming from fundy land, that it would be very appropriate.

RE: Adjustment Bureau
great movie. I thought the whole thing really worked, the ending didn't even go off track like I was expecting it to.
A shade below Inception from a visual/plot perspective, but quite a good flick for sure. "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side" |

RE: Adjustment Bureau
It was a pretty decent concept. Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

RE: Adjustment Bureau
Philip K Dick!!!!!! Was the MAN!!!!! (wrote it) I have read most everything he ever wrote. Big fan! (DORK! GEEK!)
Other movies made out of PKD stories that you might have seen, or might enjoy: Minority Report (from story of the same name), Total Recall (Story: "We Can Remember it for you wholesale"), Screamers (Story: "Second Variety"), A Scanner Darkly (same name, animated), Blade Runner ("Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?")... he was such a genius. R.I.P. -- died during making of Blade Runner. Off the record, on the QT and very hush-hush |

RE: Adjustment Bureau
Mr. NDTK picked this one on Netflix and I thought I wasn't going to like it--thought it was more of a shoot em up/chase thriller. While it had some of the elements of a thriller, there was a great love story interwoven. Casting was spot on and (without spoiling anything), the door scenes were looked so smooth! (Between this movie and Monsters, Inc. I'm beginning to wonder if doors are really "just" doors or if there is more to it that I'm missing...lol)
@Daisy--the hubby has seen Minority Report and I've seen Total Recall (can't forget Ah-nold in that one!) I didn't realize PKD did Total Recall though. The way it always was, is no longer good enough. You make me want to be brave. - Nichole Nordeman |

Minority Report is one of my favorite movies - in part because it got me reading everything PK Dick wrote Also like the Nick Cage movie Next (Story: The Golden Man) and Paycheck (story: Paycheck) ok, so I basically have like everything he wrote, and the movies have mostly been good adaptations - probably because they were short stories and so the screenwriters could just take the genius of an idea that he developed in short form and go wild with it "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side" |
