RE: How should you address God?
Some weeks ago, my co-worker was talking to a customer on the phone, and for some reason, my co-worker told her that her shin was hurting a lot. The customer started praying for her (on the spot) and rebuking the fungi off her foot.
On a more serious note, I do not like it when Trinitarian people pray to the Father and end "in your name." It is clear that the Father and the Son are two different persons (John 8:17-18), and Jesus told his followers to ask to the Father in his (Jesus' own) name (John 16:23). Am I being too picky, or is this something that you've also picked up? The Fellowship of Post-Fundamentalists |

If someone stands in the gap, he must remain in that painful position in order to do any good. This makes perfect sense. The Fellowship of Post-Fundamentalists |

Journey's mercies or traveling mercies. Why they couldn't they just ask for brother so and so to have a safe trip?

Just to make this the BEST THREAD EVER.....
More Tim Hawkins on this subject I always thought it would be funny to pray a variation of this phrase "Lord, We want........a shrubbery!!!!!! it would be funny if I could get people to adopt that phrase since they clearly wouldn't know where it came from "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side" |

Didn't we just go over that the other day when Darrell got nailed by one? ![]() So if someone had been standing in the gap in the hedge that should have been prayed around Darrell then he would not have been nailed by the finger that was in the... Oh yes, gap standing, shrubbery praying and dike plugging are very, very serious issues... don't you think so Capt'n Solo? RE: How should you address God?
Very critical that someone stands in the gap in the shrubbery with their thumb in their...yeah. just take my word for it, its important.
And yes, this is the serious business forum. Although I did snicker a little bit at the oxymoronic quality of the title of the section "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side" |
