My mom (my real one, not my step mom) was actually going to take me to an opera last year, but we got snowed out.
I like opera, as well as art, fashion, and pink shirts. All the stuff fundy preachers called you "feminine" and "queer" for liking if you were a guy

I like opera a lot but suffer from lack of exposure to it. A friend who sat on my thesis committee is working through Wagner's Ring with me, and it is awesome.

I naturally liked and listened to a lot of opera, but Fundyland's insistence that this is the only accepted secular genre took that desire away from me. What can I do to regain it?

I don't mind watching it but I'm not a big fan of just 'listening'. I need the singers and the stage and the whole production.
