I'm really hoping I get the chance to point that out to a fundy now LOL "People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff." ~Doctor Who |

Try it, you'll like it! You're right about the F-bomb... it can be used to describe just about anything; it can be a verb, adverb, noun, pronoun, swear word, preposition, descriptive word, interjection... so many possibilities.

RE: Why is "swearing" considered bad by fundies?
When I was in fundy college, we weren't allowed to cay 'crap' let alone 's***'. That was hard as I say 'crap' all the time. There were other 'tame' words that we weren't allowed to use but I don't recall any offhand. We entertained ourselves by making up new epithets like 'buttmonkey' to see how long we could use them before they too were banned.

RE: Why is "swearing" considered bad by fundies?
When I was in [secular] college, no one gave a sh.. er, crap ... about what we said. Let's just say that if one spends enough time studying engineering and taking hands-on theatre classes, the interjections in one's vocabulary are very well used.
With several proven reasons why swearing is beneficial, I'm not terribly motivated to give it up, either.

"Don't come to me with your stinkin' 'only the original is inspired'! You're not intellectual... you're retarded!" -Dr. Jack Hyles
The way fundies insult people without "swearing" comes across as very childish... Well, you're a dummy! You're a stinky poopy pants! |
