Cleaning out the closet

Going to see "The Mikado" the other night made me realize just how long we've been out of our fundy church - or at least, the church's school.

Eight years.

I had a closet full of dresses, blouses, skirts and yes, denim jumpers, I have not worn in eight years. Most of them are older than that, of course, because I wore them for years while I was going to the fundy church and had my kids in their school.

Today, I cleared them all out.

I kind of wish I'd taken pictures of the dresses - some of them were styles we've talked about here. I kept a few of the blouses (button down camp-style shirts, really). I had three denim jumpers, all in decent shape, that went (though I did keep one denim skirt).

I also cleaned out a shelf full of dresses my daughter hadn't worn since she was about 10 or 12. Some other girl can have the benefit of those now. There were a few other things that went as well, and I took them all down to the Salvation Army because - hey, I may not be fundy anymore, but I'm still Christ's child.

Next, the hubby's closet!

Good for you! I'm sure going through the closet brought back a lot of feelings, both good and bad. Some fundy might bless you when she finds all those jumpers at the Salvation Army store.

If your husbands closet is full of jumpers, coulottes, and dresses from his time in fundamentalism, then you must have a very interesting story.
