Fundies at the Library
Our local library has a large posterboard on a tripod by the door with the question, "What do you geek?"

I was looking at the comments today. I found this written clearly and underlined for emphasis:

I geek the King James Bible.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

RE: Fundies at the Library
I'm surprised the uber KJVO fundies would use a quasi-government place like a library. But then again, it's free. They might (gasp!) have other versions of the Bible, or even a copy of the Koran nearby the authorized version.

Of course they know where it is! The library is where they get their free movie rentals. The library only has family movies and you can avoid the appearance of evil. They might venture out of the movie section and get the latest book from Janette Oke, if their library is the type that would get those sort of books. (It is if there are fundys around) Of course they would never venture into the other sections of the library. You won't catch them dead reading the newspaper or Time magazine.

Just describing many fundys I know.

I dare not fix with mete and bound The love and power of God. - J.G. Whittier

Hahahaha! I love the underlining! It gives it that extra little in-your-face flavor that we all remember so well.

I have had a couple of those moments. There was this one girl at a carnival with a shirt that had a guy holding a foamy mug with the letters KJB on it. The caption was "it don't get no better"

Cell phone pic turned out completely unreadable - it was a little to dark for it to focus properly. I forgot to ask where she got it.

RE: Fundies at the Library
I went back and took a picture of the paper. When I looked at it close up, I found ANOTHER KJV geek. Her writing looks childish so it could've been a mom and daughter.

I'll have to pray that she learns someday that loving Jesus and showing His love to others is more important than loving a specific version of the Bible and enjoying feeling superior to other Christians who read other versions.

(I spent the first 20 years of my life as KJVO. I know how tantalizing it is to feel so much better and holier than all the other Christians who read the NIV, God forgive me.)
