My question to you is, could it not be said that God created the medicines that modern mental professional prescribe and through the hands of the psychiatric or psychologist God is working to heal the mentally ill. And that person can turn to the his/her church for further support in going through this difficult time.

I have no problem with that, it's just that the Preacher/Counselor/Christian Psychologist would take issue with that. If a church is "supporting" someone who has these issues, more than not, they aren't IFB churches. As far as prescribing meds, your General practioner can do that without being out of his or her scope of practice. A Psychologist though, is not allowed.
