Today I was rereading some old journal entries I wrote a few years ago. I was amused to find an entry where I was apparently ranting about WCBC's rules about shaving:

BULLSHIT. Where does this shit come from? Who comes up with it? God? Really? How did being a Christian turn into this focus on how good and sharp and clean we're looking on the outside?

I have no idea how I found this out, as I was not exactly prone to sitting in with the men during split meetings. But apparently it was a rule at WCBC, and apparently the graduates at my fundy church continued to teach it.
