Worship Songs
So I am trying to teach my sons some simple worship songs. They know the doxology, and we are working on "My God is an Awesome God". What are any other ideas for simple but worshipful songs for me to teach the boys?

RE: Worship Songs
I love you Lord is simple and sweet. We often sing it acapella. Comes up on You tube. There are a few verses. We usually just sing one.

I love you Lord,
And I lift my voice
To worship you, O my soul rejoice
take Joy my King, in what you hear
let it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear.

Yep, that's a good one. I forgot about that one, that's why I asked. Smile Thanks!

RE: Worship Songs
For a very upbeat one, we like this:

Oh, no! You never let go! Through the calm and through the storm!
Oh, no! You never let go! Through every high and every low.
Oh, no! You never let go! Lord, you never let go of me!

We do a right hand finger shake back and forth on "Oh, no" and then on the "nev" of "never", we clasp the upper left arm with the right hand and on "go", grab the right arm with the left hand so you are hugging yourself. "Through the calm" we slowly and gently lower our hands from shoulder high to about waist high (like a gentle rain) and on "storm" we wave our arms wildly in front of us. "High" and "low" are self-explanatory. And on "Lord" we point up.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

I really like "He Is Lord" because it is based on a Bible verse. It's been around for a long time but is great.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

RE: Worship Songs
I've been amazed at how quickly my kids can learn anything...if its set to music. My youngest is 4 and is speech delayed, but he can sing along with my regular playlist and the radio like no one's business.

These aren't "typical" worship songs, but some of my favorites are Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) by Chris Tomlin, Revelation Song by Kari Jobe, How He Loves by John Mark McMillan. A recent addition has been Manifesto by City Harmonic.

I can't quite put into words what it means to me to hear these songs coming from my children. I think it gives me a glimpse of Jesus' tender heart toward the little ones.

The way it always was, is no longer good enough. You make me want to be brave. - Nichole Nordeman
